http://wwwcf.nlm.nih.gov/hmddirectory/index.cfm

“The collections described in this Directory database provide research, reference, and interlibrary loan services to scholars interested in the history of the health sciences. Some of the subjects include: dentistry, veterinary medicine, nursing, military medicine, and pharmacy. While the Directory is by no means exhaustive, it serves to draw attention to the depth and variety of history of medicine collections available to researchers.”–From the Web site.

    Hello,
I am an undergraduate student at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. I am attempting to comppose a small research paper covering medical practice in Japan preferrably during the Edo period but possibly during the Meiji period. I have some slight background in Japanese, and spent 4 months in Yamaguchi, but academic works purely in Japanese would be too much for my limited skills. Are any of these works in the history of medicine collection in or have been translated to English?

    Thanks,
    David Carlson
